What is Screen Printing?

Screen printing is a popular printing technique used to transfer a design onto various surfaces, such as fabric, paper, or plastic. The process involves creating a stencil (known as a screen), and then using it to apply layers of ink on the printing surface.

Steps Involved in UnderPar Screen Printing Process:
1. **Design Creation**: The first step is creating a design that you want to print. This design is usually created digitally using graphic design software.  For best results, graphics should be created and/or submitted in a high resolution vector file.  A vector file allows for the image to be modified without the concern of distortion of image or grainy edges on the print.

2. **Apparel Selection**: The second step is to determine what type of material you want to have your image printed too.  The most common are Cotton (100% Cotton), Blend (% of Cotton and a % of polyester) and Performance Polyester, aka Dry Fit (100% Polyester).  There are other things to take into account, such as the weight and feel.

3. **Quantity Needed**: 24 is typically the minimum required for Screen Printing, but there are price breaks the more you select.  Please refer to the price chart.  If you need to purchase less than 24 items, please contact us and we can discuss with you a process called DTF (Direct to Film) which allows for as low as 1 piece minimums.

4. **Invoice**: Once the Graphics have been approved, you have selected the type of fabric and the quantity needed, you will be provided with an invoice to continue the process.

5. **Mock Up Approval**: Once the order is submitted to production, you will receive an official mock up for your approval.  The mock up will show the color of the fabric, location of the graphic, size of the graphic, color ink of the fabric and any other important information needed to ensure the order is created to your requirements.

6. **Production Time**: Once the Mock up has been approved and submitted to production, the production team will complete the project within 5 to 10 business days.

7. **Shipping**: Once Production is complete, the project will be shipped or delivered (Depending on pre-agreed arrangements) to the customer.

Advantages of Screen Printing:
**Durability**: The inks used in screen printing are thick and produce a durable, long-lasting print.
**Versatility**: Screen printing can be used on a wide variety of materials, including textiles, glass, ceramics, wood, and metal.
**Vibrant Colors**: This technique allows for vibrant and opaque colors, even on dark surfaces.

Screen Printing Limitations:
**Complexity for Multicolor Designs**: Each color requires a separate screen, making the process more time-consuming and costly for multicolored designs.
**Setup Cost**: For short runs, the setup cost can be high, making it less economical compared to other printing methods for smaller quantities.

Overall, screen printing is a versatile and reliable printing method, especially favored for high-quality, durable prints on various surfaces.
